Welcome to Uri.  Uri is a Hebrew word that means to “be awake, to arise, and to shine.” Uri is a series of ten courses that will transform your life and return you to the original apostolic faith of the first century.  Uri is an accredited academic and relationship curriculum that is part of Yeshivat Shuvu, Shuvu College of Messianic Judaism, and Kosher Pastor.  If accepted into this program, you will begin one of the most exciting times of your life.  It is here that you will develop a depth of character, a commitment to academic excellence, and a deeper understanding of what it means to walk with HaShem the way that Yeshua did.

Uri may take you one year, it may take you two years, but the course of instruction must be completed within the two-year period of time.  Please know that when you complete this excellent curriculum, your life will be forever changed.  You will become part of a global community that will encourage you to broaden your horizons, take on new leadership opportunities, and truly function under the concepts that you will learn.

The courses included in Uri are Introduction to Messianic Jewish Thought; The Jewishness of the Gospels; The Five Hebrew Words That Will Change Your Life; Paul Under a Jewish Microscope;  At The Footsteps of Ancient Messianic Judaism; At The Footsteps of Rabbi Yeshua; Jerusalem - Past, Present, and Future; From Jesus to Yeshua; Biblical Hebrew and Jewish Thought; and Biblical Hebrew and Jewish Ethics.

In these courses, you will be exposed to the history, culture, language, geography, and archaeology of the Second Temple Period, the period in which Yeshua lived and taught.  But even more importantly, your eyes will be opened to view the New Covenant through Jewish lenses.  Upon successful completion of the curriculum, not only will you will be awarded a certificate of completion, but you may be offered an opportunity to continue your studies in our accredited associate’s degree program.  In addition, for those who meet the qualifications set by the leadership of Shuvu College of Messianic Judaism, Jewish ordination as Moreh HaTorah (Torah Teacher) is a possibility.

As Academic Dean of Uri, it is my honor to invite and welcome Africa to this journey of their restoration to the House of Israel.  Arise Africa and join us as we become a light to the Nations.  Come and join us as partakers in the Tikkun Olam.  This I can promise you, you will never be the same.

Shalom,

Doug Wheeler, Ph.D., Th.D.
